Important Information
⚠️ Warning: Deleting your account is a permanent action. Once your account is deleted, all associated data including profile information, order history, wallet balance, loan records, and membership information will be permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
Before proceeding with account deletion, please ensure you have:
- Completed or cancelled all pending orders
- Settled all active loans and EMIs
- Cancelled or waited for all pending loan applications to be resolved
- Reviewed your order history and saved any important information
- Withdrawn any remaining wallet balance
Step-by-Step Deletion Process
Step 1: Open Settings
Launch the ShamzMart mobile app and navigate to the Settings screen. You can access Settings from the menu or account section.
Step 2: Locate Delete Account Option
Scroll to the bottom of the Settings screen. You will find a red "Delete Account" button. This is usually located below the Logout option.
Step 3: Confirm Deletion
Tap the "Delete Account" button. A confirmation dialog will appear warning you about the permanent nature of this action. Review the warning carefully.
Step 4: Request OTP
Click "Send OTP" in the confirmation dialog. A 6-digit One-Time Password (OTP) will be sent to your registered email address. The OTP will expire in 15 minutes.
Step 5: Enter OTP
Check your registered email inbox for the OTP message. Enter the 6-digit OTP in the field provided on the app. Make sure you enter it correctly before the 15-minute expiry.
Step 6: Confirm Final Deletion
After entering the correct OTP, click the "Delete" button. Your account will be permanently deleted. You will be automatically logged out and redirected to the login screen.
What Happens After Deletion
- Account Removal: Your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted from our servers.
- Auto Logout: You will be automatically logged out of the app.
- Email Confirmation: You may receive a confirmation email to your registered email address.
- No Data Recovery: Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered. This action is irreversible.
- Re-registration: You can create a new account with the same email or phone number after deletion.
Conditions for Account Deletion
Your account cannot be deleted if you have any of the following:
- Active Orders: Orders with status "Pending" or "Shipped"
- Active Loans: Loans with status "Ongoing" or "Overdue"
- Pending Loan Applications: Loan applications awaiting approval
If you encounter an error message indicating one of these conditions, please complete or cancel those transactions before attempting to delete your account again.
OTP Verification Details
- Why OTP? The OTP (One-Time Password) adds an extra layer of security to prevent unauthorized account deletion.
- Duration: The OTP is valid for 15 minutes from the time it is sent.
- Delivery: The OTP is sent to your registered email address associated with your ShamzMart account.
- Resend: If you did not receive the OTP or it expired, you can request a new OTP by clicking "Send OTP" again.
- Incorrect OTP: If you enter an incorrect OTP, you will see an error message. You can try again with the correct OTP.
Troubleshooting
I didn't receive the OTP email
Check your spam or junk folder. If you still don't see it, try requesting a new OTP. Make sure the email address registered with your account is correct by checking your profile settings. If the issue persists, contact our support team at support@shamzmart.in.
The OTP has expired
OTPs are valid for 15 minutes only. If your OTP expired, click "Send OTP" again to request a new one.
I'm getting an error about active orders/loans
You must complete or cancel all pending orders, settle all active loans, and resolve all pending loan applications before you can delete your account. Once these are completed, try the deletion process again.
I changed my mind and want to cancel deletion
You can cancel the deletion process at any time by clicking "Cancel" in the confirmation dialog. Your account will remain active.
